About Us

The modern, full-service facility at Bowdon Animal Hospital offers medical, surgical, and dental care for animals in Carrollton, Ranburne, Wedowee, Anniston, Temple, and nearby areas. Our goal is to become the most reputable and prosperous veterinary facility in Bowdon, Georgia.

Patient Arrival Policy

Please check in with the front desk upon arrival to the hospital so they may begin processing your records. For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. Cats should be on a leash or contained in a carrier.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. Should your pet require in-patient hospitalization, a deposit is required. Any invoice balance must be paid in full prior to discharge. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, CareCredit, cash, and check.

Standard Appointments

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, appointments for both small and large animal services are given first priority. Walk-ins are also available and incur an additional $10 fee. As of August 2020, wait times for walk-ins can often reach beyond a couple of hours. If your pet needs routine or preventative care, please make an appointment for these services.

Patients are seen from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The remaining part of the business day is required for procedures and discharging patients.

Drop-Off Appointments

For your convenience, drop-off appointments are available. A drop-off means you can bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a few hours. Usually, we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, he/she will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and give you discharge instructions. We encourage you to wait to see a doctor for sick visits. This allows the doctor to discuss any diagnostics required or symptoms with you at the time of check-up.

For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date. All pets should be leashed or confined safely in a carrier. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in a pet carrier throughout your visit to BAH.

COVID-19 Statement

Here at Bowdon Animal Hospital, our client, patient, and staff health is of the utmost importance. We are following the CDC and AVMA recommendations for our area and will continue to stay updated on any changes in recommended protocols. Our hours of operation have modified since the onset of the pandemic and may continue to change as we adapt to circumstances in our community.

Extra precautions and disinfecting protocols have been put in place in an attempt to protect and limit possible virus exposure, especially to any high-risk individuals. If you need services and are unable to come inside our offices, please call to make arrangements for us to see your pet in your vehicle. While we are able to conduct telemedicine visits, this does not replace an in-person physical exam and evaluation. If you need refills of your pet’s medications, please call ahead and we will gladly help process these within 24 hours.
